The Mission
Northleigh House school runs at full capacity and has a waiting list of students wanting to attend. The demand for places has continued to grow and Viv has sought to meet this increased need by expanding the premises over the years, the latest being the addition of a new Primary school in 2020.
The expansion of the school has been limited by the amount of space available within Viv’s grounds. With the addition of several classroom buildings, the garden itself has now been completely filled and has slowly been diminished over time.
But exciting developments in 2021 have brought renewed hope! A portion of the adjacent field has been donated to the school and plans are in place for the development of a new multi-sports ground. This means the old sports pitch in the school grounds can be used to create an allotment area and perhaps allow for some animals to be introduced to the Northleigh family.
The children would benefit immensely from being able to work in the garden, growing plants and vegetables, and seeing the rewards of their labour. It is also well recognised that spending time outdoors can hugely improve mental health and well-being and Viv has long wanted to introduce this aspect to the children’s curriculum.
We are now looking for support in the local community and beyond in order to make this a reality.

Viv has relied on the good will and generosity of so many to run the school, from weekly food deliveries by local supermarkets to free cleaning and gardening services from local businesses – every single aspect of the school has been touched by kindness.
